Marlboro Man

I was on my way to the Airport terminal at Portland , there I sighted him near the designated smoking zone - The Marlboro man sans his horse offcourse ! ( I dont think they have horse parking anymore:)

This tall white mustached guy wearing a blue jean , white shirt , boots and a cowboy hat was extremely happy when I asked him if I could call him by the name of his iconic friend. He was indeed smoking a Marlboro , so was I . We struck a decent conversation where we exchanged info on our cultures ..... I must say a cigarette is a great social tool !! in this case Marlboro.

My wife is hell bent on me putting the butt off forever ........

Back home !

Its 4 PM local time in Portland and my overnight flight to Baltmore is in 3 hours ! Glad to be back home to my wife , a weekend of surprises perhaps ;)

I am a salesman and my job is traveling ...ooops selling !

I moved to America on a a medium term assignment last year , My job involves a lot of short duration stays in different parts of the country. I stay in the East coast and travel mostly to the Western side of the US of A !

I am in Portland ,OR this week and have had two road trips to Seattle already . I love the exposure i get although I miss my family when I am loafing !

Amercicans are very nice people . They are warm and love to interact with anybody . I am slowly getting into this mode and I am enjoying it . Coming back to Portland , I feel this is one of the cities that has a character and an attitude . An attitude of freedom and equality . I find the people absolutely chilled , mind you they also work very hard . Its summer time in Portland and everybody is enjoying the sun , wearing shorts and cycling to work !
